Three or four cards of the same rank make up a valid set, whereas three or more cards in the same suit make up a run. During their turn, players are allowed to plateen pati wince their sets and runs on the table, but they also need to watch what their opponents do. Being the first to "go out"—that is, to lay down every card in a valid combination—is the goal. Though it can be harmful to hold onto high-point cards if another player goes out first, players must also strategically manage their hand.
