The goal is straightforward: players must combine cards in a way that maximizes their remaining points when another player goes out. Each player is dealt a set number of cards at the start of a typical game, rummy gausually seven or ten, with the remaining cards forming a draw pile. Following a turn drawing from the draw pile or the discard pile, each player discards one card from their hand. Until one player successfully melds every card into a valid combination and discards their last card, the game goes on. To enjoy Rummy, you must understand the fundamentals, but there are subtleties that can greatly affect how you play.
