Foxen started the month off with a victory in Event #7: $15,100 Pot-Limit Omaha at the 2025 PokerGO Tour (PGT) PLO Series for $315,000. Just a few weeks later, the high-stakes pro and former Boston College athlete took down the seventh event of another series, $15,100 No-Limit Hold'em at the 2025 US Poker Open, for $340,200 and his second PGT trophy of the month.
Alex wasn't the only Foxen to win a trophy at the series. The Event #1: $5,100 No-Limit Hold'em title and $158,025 went to his wife, Kristen Foxen, a five-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner who last year was inducted into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame.
Foxen's two victories in April only tell part of the story. The former college footballer also finished runner-up in the PGT PLO Series Event #11 $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha - Bounty for $41,610 just days after finishing third in the $15,000 buy-in Event #9 for $143,775.
Not ten days later, Foxen finished fifth in the US Poker Open Event #6 $15,000 NLH for $102,900.
Foxen could have a strong May as well as Triton Montenegro gets underway. He secured five cashes at the Triton Jeju festival in March, including a third-place bounty event finish that earned him $221,000.
There were other high-stakes pros who had a good month in April. Matthew Wantman finished runner-up in the Player of the Month race with seven cashes, five top-tens and one victory in a $10,000 US Poker Open event for $231,300, which he followed up with a runner-up finish in a $15,000 buy-in event for $242,550.
Meanwhile, Jim Collopy finished third with six cashes, four top-tens and one victory in the $25,000 PLO Series Championship for $450,367. Later, Collopy finished runner-up in a US Poker Open $10,000 buy-in event for $174,400.
Three non-Americans made the April top-ten: Lautaro Guerra (Spain - 6th), Jon Kyte (Norway - 8th) and Nacho Barbero (Argentina - 9th).
