PokerStars has announced its decision to withdraw from the Polish market later this month, citing a "reassessment of priorities"

In a statement, the site says the exit was not driven by any change to local regulations. Instead, the commercial decision is part of a programme to optimise PokerStars' operations.

The online poker site is owned by Flutter Entertainment, the world’s largest sports betting and iGaming company. Flutter has long held plans to "transform" PokerStars, including strengthening its competitive advantage in regulated markets.

Another Market Departure

Last year, there was a flurry of departures as PokerStars exited Croatia, Peru, Poland, and the Czech Republic. This latest move is part of a broader strategy to "optimize operations and focus on key growth markets." This involved a "comprehensive and ongoing review", which decided that withdrawing from the Polish market would better support Flutter's long-term strategic goals.

PokerStars expressed gratitude to its Polish player base and assured them of a smooth transition.

"PokerStars has enjoyed serving players in Poland, who will be communicated with directly and will continue to be supported as part of the wind down of operations in the market. The company wishes to thank them for their support and loyalty over the years."

Exit Scheduled for March 27

The official departure date is set for Thursday, March 27, 2025. To ensure a smooth transition, affected customers will receive detailed information on account closure, fund withdrawals and any outstanding transactions in the coming week.

Customers with additional queries can find more information by contacting the PokerStars Help Center or by contacting PokerStars on social media.
