The 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) continued on July 10, the 45th day of the series. As has been the case for the past five days, Event #81: $10,000 WSOP Main Event World Championship was at the forefront of everyone's minds, not least because there's a $10 million top prize up for grabs.

Day 5 of the WSOP Main Event saw the 522 returning players reduced to 202. Germany's Sebastian Schulze (12,745,000) bagged the biggest stack, followed by Chad Power (9,540,000) and Braxton Dunaway (8,600,000). You can read a detailed recap of the Main Event's Day 5 action right here.

Christopher Nguyen Leads the $50,000 High Roller

Germany's Christopher Nguyen (13,035,000) is a relative newcomer to the high roller and super high roller worlds but you would never know. Nguyen more than held his own on Day 2 of Event #88: $50,000 High Roller, where only 17 players remain in the hunt for the $2,686,913 top prize.

Nguyen has been on a tear for the past 18 months. He finished fifth in the $25,000 WSOP Paradise Main Event for $2,100,000, won a €100,000 EPT Monte Carlo Super High Roller for €2,022,000, and finished third in a €50,000 Super High Roller at the same EPT stop.

He may hold a substantial lead going into Day 3, but he will have to look over his shoulder because there are some talented players in the chasing pack.

Player Bluffs 150 Big Blind Pot into Full House Deep into WSOP Main Event

Martin Zamani (9,200,000) returns in second place, while the likes of Sergio Aido (5,720,000), Sam Soverel (5,470,000), Matthew Wantman (4,090,000), Philip Sternheimer (3,305,000), Alexandre Reard (2,800,000), and Mathew Frankland (2,530,000), are all staking a claim for this event's bracelet.

Quan Tran Leads the Way After Day 2 of the $1K PLO Mystery Bounty

Event #86: $1,000 Mystery Bounty Pot-Limit Omaha continued on July 10 and saw the 792 returning players whittled to only 29. Quan Tran (16,900,000) holds a narrow lead over Paulo Drummond (15,825,000) going into Day 3, with Carlos De Lima (10,725,000) and Lukas Hafner (10,035,000) the only other players with eight-figure stacks.

Only two of the surviving players have previously won bracelets. Lawrence Brandt (7,900,000) and Danny Wong (1,900,000) are looking to add to their collection of WSOP gold.

Although these players are focused on capturing the title, this event may be best remembered for Vincent Moscati doing the unthinkable and pulling both $100,000 mystery bounties from their envelopes. Moscati finished in 40th place for $8,970 but will still likely take home more than the eventual third-place finisher unless they help themselves to some of the remaining bounties.

The remaining 29 players return to their seats at 12:00 p.m. local time, continuing until a champion is crowned.

Jason Wheeler Bags Top Ten Stack on Day 1b of the $3K Mid-Stakes Championship

Day 1b of Event #89: $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship attracted 2,001 players to the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, taking the total attendance to 3,220. One level of late registration remains. At the close of play, 667 players bagged and tagged their chips, with Austria's Felix Rabas (654,000) claiming the flight's chip lead.

Rabas enjoyed a productive day at the felt and finished Day 1b with 262 big blinds, some 69 more than Antonio Salorio (482,500) in second and 77 more than third-placed Inigo Naveiro (462,500).

Dozens of top-tier grinders entered this event today, with plenty of them progressing to Day 2. Jason Wheeler (420,500), Vlad Darie (415,000), and Mark Seif (401,000) bagged up enough chips for a top ten spot on the overnight leaderboard. Mike Leah (331,000), Jesse Lonis (330,000), and Roman Hrabec (321,000) finished in this flight's top 30.

Poker Player Wins Two $100K Bounty Prizes in Same WSOP Tournament

Two Main Event champions made it through the ten Day 1b levels. Joe McKeehen (83,000) and Jamie Gold (42,500) are among the shorter stacks but by no means out of contention.

On Day 1b, two members of the Poker Hall of Fame punched their Day 2 tickets. John Juanda (138,000) and Brian Rast (134,000) finished this flight in the middle of the pack.

Others to keep an eye during Day 2 include Chris Hunichen (250,500), David Peters (230,000), Alex Foxen (198,000), Matt Glantz (163,000), Jon Kyte (100,500), and Kane Kalas (60,000).

Day 2 shuffles up and deals at 1 p.m. local time on July 11. Late registration is open until the end of Level 11, which will be around 2:15 p.m. local time. The returning players are tasked with playing another ten 60-minute levels. Stay tuned to PokerNewsto discover who achieves that feat.

Tom Hall Bags Another Big Stack, This Time in the Lucky 7s

The United Kingdom's Tom Hall (1,455,000) has again proven he knows his way around fast-paced, large field tournaments. After bagging the Day 1b chip lead in the $600 Ultra Stack a few days ago, Hall finds himself in the top ten after Day 1a of Event #90: $777 Lucky 7's.

Although Hall enjoyed a fruitful day at the tables, the 36 big blinds he returns with on Day 2 are less than half what Hertsel Levy (3,405,000) accumulated on the first of this event's three flights. Levy returns on Day 2 armed with an 85 big blind war chest, putting him in pole position early on.

In 2019, Levy finished 169th from 10,185 entrants in the $888 Crazy Eights. Another super deep run looks on the cards.

Only three bracelet winners progressed from this flight. Bradley Smith (1,100,000) was the best-placed of them, followed by Joshua Remito (940,000) and Andrew Kelsall (480,000), the latter also being a $25K Fantasy Draft pick.

Day 1b shuffles up and deals at 10:00 a.m. on July 11, with entrants tasked with navigating through 22 levels that each last 30 minutes. PokerNews' traditional coverage of this event starts on Day 2 on July 13, but you can update your chip count via MyStack.

Nacho Barbero Leads the $1,500 PLO 6-Max

Combining Pot-Limit Omaha with short-handed tables usually results in an explosive tournament, and Event #91: $1,500 6-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha was certainly that. Though 1,304 players bought in while late registration remained open, only 103 progressed to Day 2 as the field was decimated.

One man who not only survived the day's antics but thrived was Argentina's Nacho Barbero (1,382,000), who was one of four players to bag up more than one million chips. Narcis Nedelcu (1,290,000), Cameron Bramwell (1,088,000), and Paul Gunness (1,040,000) are the other three chip millionaires.

No fewer than 20 bracelet winners navigated their way through the choppy Day 1 waters. They include Qiang Xu (682,000), Dario Alioto (360,000), Sean Troha (347,000), Renji Mao (299,000), Robert Mizrachi (249,000), Erik Seidel (242,000), Yueqi Zhu (138,000, Allan Le (55,000), and short stack Ben Yu (37,000).

This event resumes at noon local time on July 11. The schedule calls for another ten levels, which extend to 60 minutes from this point onward.

Event #91: $1,500 6-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha Top Ten Chip Counts

What to Expect on Day 46 of the 2025 WSOP

As you would expect, Event #81: $10,000 WSOP Main Event World Championship takes center stage on July 11, with 202 players returning for Day 6 of the Big Dance at 12:00 p.m. local time. Another five 120-minute levels are planned, and PokerNewswill be providing live and exclusive coverage like only we can.

The final day of Event #86: $1,000 Mystery Bounty Pot-Limit Omaha also shuffles up and deals at 12:00 p.m. local time, as does Day 2 of Event #91: $1,500 6-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha.

A couple of hours before those events resume, Day 1b of Event #90: $777 Lucky 7's gets underway at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Meanwhile, it's a 1:00 p.m. local time start for Day 3 of Event #88: $50,000 High Roller, and Day 2 of Event #89: $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship.

Two fresh events enter the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas on July 11.

Event #92: $1,979 Poker Hall of Fame Bounty No-Limit Hold'em starts at 12:00 p.m. local time. This event sees Poker Hall of Fame members play with a bounty on their heads worth the year of their induction. Jamie Walden is the reigning champion, having outlasted 1,123 opponents in 2023 and taking home $313,370 and his first bracelet.

Two hours later, at 2:00 p.m. local time, Event #93: $3,000 T.O.R.S.E. kicks off. This event, new for 2025, is similar to H.O.R.S.E. except 2-7 Triple Draw replaces Hold'em.
