Some time may have passed since Sweden's Anton "VnilaVader" Herrmann was ranked as the number one online poker tournament player on the planet, but he still knows his way around a poker table. Herrmann recently left 954 opponents in his wake on his way to taking down the $100,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty Main Event at 888poker.
The $100,000 Mystery Bounty is 888poker's flagship weekly tournament. Day 1 takes place on Sunday and plays down to the eight-handed final table, with the final eight returning to the action on Monday evening under the watchful eyes of 888poker's popular Twitch channel.
Everyone who enters this event has their eye on the $10,000 jackpot mystery bounty envelope, not least because it is often larger than what first-place pays. That was the case again this week. Denmark's "ogDOG" would ordinarily be disappointed with finishing in 60th place, but not this week because they pulled the $10,000 mystery bounty before busting, and walked away with $10,203 for their efforts.

"Scotty1664" sat down at the final table as the chip leader with 37 big blinds, yet he was the first player out of the door. Nothing went right for them, including having pocket kings cracked by the pocket nines of "Alexmegakill" then running ace-jack into Herrmann's pocket kings. From hero to zero within 15 minutes.
From that elimination to Herrmann being crowned champion, only 30 minutes passed.
"Grindathon" headed for the exits in seventh after their king-queen couldn't get there against the ace-jack of "UncleJo1955." Sixth place went to "Oldnall," who can count themselves unlucky because their suited queen-ten lost to the dominated ten-seven of "captincrunch."
"captincrunch" then sent "UncleJo1955" to the rail when their ace-king flopped an ace to best the latter's pocket queens.

Herrmann was the main beneficiary, building his stack to 93 big blinds as the former chip leader fell.
The tournament was now Herrmann's to lose, but he wouldn't do that. After "MoonMeander" busted at the hands of Herrmann, the tournament progressed to heads-up, where Herrmann held a lead of more than three-to-one.
Heads-up was a brief affair, ending when "Alexmegakill" three-bet all-in for 21 big blinds with ace-nine only to discover Herrmann held ace-queen. A few moments and five community cards later, Herrmann has all of the chips in play in his stack and a $9,685 score to show for his efforts.
